Tank Beasts of Battlefield!

TANKS! BEASTS OF THE BATTLEFIELD 7/18‐7/21/2016
Paul G. Allen’s Flying Heritage Collection is pleased to announce that Tanks! Beasts of the Battlefield, a day camp that focuses on our operating tank and military vehicles, will be rolling out for 2016. From Monday, July 18th through Thursday, July 21st campers ages 11‐14 will have fun learning about the fantastic armor and military vehicle collection of the Flying Heritage Collection, tank operations,tank strategy and combat, and see our M4A1 Sherman tank demoed just for them.


The Details
  • Monday ‐ Thursday from 9AM‐3PM
  • Cost: $275 for the week, due at registration
  • Registration Deadline: June 1st
  • Space is limited to 12 participants (a waitlist will be generated)
  • Sack lunches need to be brought by campers; refrigeration is available, heating is not.
  • Campers will receive a Tanks! Beasts of the Battlefield Summer Camp T‐shirt.

      


The Schedule
Monday (7/18) Tanks 101 In‐depth tour of FHC artifacts, including a Kettenkrad demo, and how we prepare our weaponry to fire.
Tuesday (7/19) Tank Strategies Play World of Tanks, see a demonstration of our ¼ scale Tiger and T‐34 tanks, and hear from tank experts.
Wednesday (7/20) Tanks Past and Present Interact with FHC maintentance and restoration staff – learn how they keep tanks running and gunning today – and the stories of FHC’s armorw from FHC Curator Cory Graff.
Thursday (7/21) Operating Tanks Campers get to step behind the controls of RC tanks, learn how to manuver a tank, and experience a demo of FHC’s M4A1 Sherman tank.

Aviation Alive!
AVIATION ALIVE! 8/15‐8/18/2016
Paul G. Allen’s Flying Heritage Collection is pleased to announce the dates for its 2016 Aviation Alive! Summer Camp program. From Monday, August 15th through Thursday, August 18th campers ages 11‐14 will have fun learning about the fantastic collection of the Flying Heritage Collection, warbird restoration, air combat, and the future of aviation.

  • Monday - Thursday from 9AM-3PM
  • Cost: $275 for the week, due at registration

  • Campers will receive an Aviation Alive! Summer Camp T-shirt and an aircraft model that they will customize over the course of the camp.

      


The Schedule
Monday (8/15) FHC The Museum Learn about FHC artifacts, climb in the FHC’s B‐25 and participate in a scavenger hunt across both FHC hangars.
Tuesday (8/16) Returning Aircraft to Life Interact with FHC’s maintenance staff, see how a plane is riveted together and tour the Museum of Flight Restoration Center.
Wednesday (8/17) Soaring with Warbirds Expericne PC simulations, model making, drone demoes and hear from artists how to paint classic aircraft.
Thursday (8/18) Where Can Aviation Take Us? Take the Boeing Tour and hear what it’s like to be a pilot.
